The winner of the 2010 Lakeport Winter Lights Challenge is Elena Simonenko. She lives at 1956 Lakeport Way. On a very cold day, she turned her home into a very large beautiful Christmas tree. It was a truly inspiring display that caught the spirit of the season. Lakeport was a blaze of lights this season but Elena your home shined the brightest! Congratulations!
Many people commented on the number and how creative the displays were this year. We want to thank everyone for making this season at Lakeport a little more festive. We also want to thank the many people who walked through the community as judges. It was not easy to select a winner with so many options. We had Allie the Red Nose Alligator, the entire group of homes to the right of the entrance, decorations facing the lake, all the way up Lakespray and all the way down Lakeport. It seemed like every night something new was added to brighten our community. Many homes got votes and we all got to enjoy this season a little more because of your displays.
As we start the New Year, we can all be thankful that we live in the best cluster in Reston. Elena, you were the best but watch out for next year! We have heard that many are already searching the web for new and better displays. Elena, we know that you decorated your home for your daughter but we also really enjoyed your efforts. Congratulations again.
