Get a Brand New Trash and/or Recycle Cart
If you didn’t already request a free 65-gallon trash and/or recycle cart but would like to do so, there’s still time. New containers will be available at no charge if you call (703) 368-0500 before April 11. To avoid a charge, tell them you are calling in relation to a new contract negotiated with Lakeport Cluster. If you don’t currently have an old cart/bin to exchange, identify yourself as a new resident.
Plastic Bags No Longer Allowed for Yard Waste
Beginning March 1, 2017, American Disposal Services (ADS), Lakeport’s trash and recycling service, is longer accepting yard waste material in plastic bags. ADS now accepts yard waste material ONLY in compostable paper yard waste bags or personal containers clearly marked “Yard Debris Material.” Paper yard waste bags can be found at local grocery and hardware stores and through on-line retailers.
