Thanks to Volunteers

Please take time to thank your neighbors for their efforts to make Lakeport a better place to live. If you want to volunteer your time to help your community, let the Board or a committee chair know—it’s a great way to get to know people and contribute to your community.

Landscape Projects:

  • Carol Leos (chair), Gil Blankespoor, Don Nagley, Diane Scott, Trudy Stevens, Alison Yeloushan – Landscape Committee
  • Diane Scott – investigating storm-water mitigation involving common property
  • Elena Simonenko, Terrill Evon, Rosemary Welch, and Mary Sapp – Spring workday (raked leaves in a water-prone area to locate stones there and pulled invasive English ivy between Lakeport and Lakespray)
  • Gail Pitches, Trudy Stevens, Carol Leos– hostas in Triangle Park donated, planted, and watered, and watered (respectively)
  • Carol Leos, Phong Nguyen, Don Nagley, and Paul Renard – watering plants in and near Triangle Park and the dock
  • Devdutta Bhosale, Allan Ho, Alison Yeloushan, and Kevin Burke – watering new landscaping on Lakespray Way

Standards:

Maintenance

  • Paul Renard, Stephen Sapp, Don Nagley – Spring workday (repaired holes in benches in Triangle Park caused by carpenter bees, mortared some rock walls, cold patched at bottom of Lakespray) 
  • Paul Renard – painted benches to cover damage from bees
  • Paul Renard, Don Nagley, Andy Nagley, Andrew Powers, Mary Sapp, Stephen Sapp – installed plant plugs in biologs
  • MaryAnn Hoadley – oiled teak benches on dock
  • Annabelle Hammer, Jonathan Hammer, and Paul Renard – kept dock clean
  • Annabelle Hammer – restocked doggie-bag stations

Other 

  • James Pan -- chair of new Disaster Preparedness Committee, including review of material for Disaster Preparedness web site 
  • Jonathan Hammer – research on status of new sidewalks on Sunrise Valley Drive (probably April 2020)
  • Kevin Burke – monitoring density issues
  • Barbara Khan – coordinating the Lakeport Book Club
  • Carol Leos – welcoming new residents
  • Tom Barnett – maintaining the Lakeport website, online directory, and listserv for announcements, and posting Ripples
  • Stephen Sapp – editing Ripples

Thanks also go to RA for ordering the plants for shoreline restoration on our behalf, donating the fence and stakes, lending us waders, and delivering everything.
